  • Founder Chairman of Dr. JKP Medical Center (the first of its kind center in South India dedicated to preventing and reversing heart diseases).
  • First Interventional Cardiologist in this city and was also keenly responsible to spread awareness about the use of Echocardiography in cardiac diagnosis.
  • Presented Echocardiography research paper In Asia Pacific Cardiology Conference held in Tokyo, Japan 1986.
  • Has performed more than 15,000 coronary angiograms and 3000 interventional procedures like Coronary Balloon Angioplasty with stent, Valvuloplasties and Perma nent Pacemaker implantations.

Awards Received:

      • The Highest Rotary Award, called “For the sake of honour award” in 2004 for his service to the people of Coimbatore in the field of cardiology.
      • The “Cardiologist of the Decade” award by the KG Trust for his exemplary interventional work using a mobile cath lab
      • “Life Brigadier” award by Lions dub International, Coimbatore in 2011
      • “Life Time Achievement Award” by Dr.M.G.R.Medical University in 2012
      • ” State Academic Excellence Award ” by IMA ,Tamilnadu State in 2013

GOAL:

      • To create awareness about heart diseases among the population especially the young, in and around Coimbatore. Focus on preventing heart disease and aim at reversing the existing disease.
DR JKP'S CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THIS GOAL - THE PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS
1999 – Inauguration of awareness program “Yedhayum Thaanguma Idhayam” at Mani High school, Coimbatore.

2002 – He has also tailor made a program to prevent and reverse heart diseases titled “HEALTHY HEART PROGRAM’ which comprises of Yoga, Meditation,

Diet and psychological counseling for heart patients and those vul-

nerable with high risk factors. He has been conducting this program 2002.

Inauguration of ” Dr 31(13’s Healthy Heart Program “. Till today more than 10,000 patients have been benefited by this program .

‘ The Healthy Heart Club ‘ founded by the members of the program is now more than 120 months old , celebrating 10 yrs completion on the 18th March 2012.

In 2002 – Public awareness Programs :- “Yedhayum Thaanguma Idhayam”

was conducted in the following Places

      • P.Velur ( Namakkal Dt)
      • Erode
      • Karur
      • Coimbatore.

2006 – Inauguration of Dr .3.K.P Medical Center , a center dedicated to prevent &

reverse heart diseases.

2006 –     Release of book in tamil ” Yedhayum Thaanguma Idhayam” which was

appreciated by the former president of India , Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and autographed as a mark of appreciation.

2007 –      Release of CD ” Yoga for heart ” – a CD demonstrating easy and step

by step approach for a healthy heart by yoga

2010 –    Release of CD ‘Ithaya Geetham ” – a musical CD about heart and its

health with lyrics penned by Dr.J.K.P to catchy cinema tunes. To enable everyone to remember their hearts ,thank and pray their hearts every morning on waking

2011 –    The release of book in English ” The Forgotten heart “, a complete book for the common man on heart diseases, its prevention and treatment. This book had received acclaims from across the length and breadth of the country.

2012 –    ” THE FORGOTTEN HEART” book was again appreciated and autographed by the former Indian President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.

2013 –    The second edition of” THE FORGOTTEN HEART” book was released.
